第一作目として収録されたのは、1965年作品「脱走特急」と66年の「ブルー・マックス」。
ともに第二次世界大戦を舞台にした映画で、映画監督のロッド・ルーリー曰く「ゴールドスミスは戦争映画を描かせたら一番だ」という評価が伺える2作品のカップリング。
すでに廃盤となって久しい2作品を新たにマスタリングを施し、新しいアートワークデザインで発売。
