アデレードは夫のゲイブ、娘のゾーラ、息子のジェイソンと共に夏休みを過ごす為、幼少期に住んでいたカリフォルニア州サンタクルーズの家を訪れる。早速、友人たちと一緒にビーチへ行くが不気味な偶然に見舞われたことで過去の原因不明で未解決なトラウマがフラッシュバックする。やがて、家族の身に恐ろしい事が起こるという妄想を強めていくアデレード。その夜、家の前に自分たちとそっくりな”わたしたち”がやってくる・・・。
